Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Akiri ("we", "us") builds a study companion that learns from the course material you give it. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control of it.

What we collect

What we don't do

How we use it

Your account and content exist to run the app for you: grounding AI answers in your own material, generating practice questions and flashcards, tracking your study progress, and keeping your Study Sessions organized. Uploaded material may be sent to our AI providers (e.g. for generating answers, summaries, or transcriptions) solely to produce your requested result — not to train their models on your behalf, beyond what each provider's own terms require.

Data retention and deletion

You can permanently delete your account and everything in it — courses, documents, Study Sessions, flashcards, and practice history — at any time from Me → Privacy → Delete Account inside the app. This is immediate and cannot be undone. We don't require you to contact support.

If you don't delete your account, we retain your data for as long as your account is active, so your study history stays available to you.

Children's privacy

Akiri is intended for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

Wherever you're located, you can access, export, correct, or delete your data. In-app deletion is the fastest path; you can also email us and we'll handle it directly.
