Study planning for students at the University of the Western Cape

Exams at UWC arrive on a fixed date. Akiri plans backwards from that date — it works out what the goal needs, measures what you can already do, and spends the days you have left on the gap.

Independent, and saying so Akiri is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, accredited by or otherwise connected to the University of the Western Cape, and this is not official UWC material.

What it does with your date

Most study tools start with the hours and hope the syllabus fits. Akiri starts with the deadline and the goal, decomposes the goal into the concepts it depends on, and schedules those backwards — so the week you are in knows what the exam needs.

When a session goes badly, or you skip three days, the plan is rebuilt rather than left to rot. That is the part a static timetable cannot do.

It plans the subject the way the subject is learned

The rhythm is not one template. Maths is planned with a different practice share and a different session shape from history or law, using the same pedagogy values the engine plans every student's week with:

programming, a language, anatomy, law, mathematics, chemistry, data science, accounting, history, music, exam preparation, statistics, psychology, philosophy, economics, finance, engineering, cybersecurity, nursing, writing.

Common questions

Is Akiri connected to UWC?

Akiri is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, accredited by or otherwise connected to the University of the Western Cape, and this is not official UWC material. It is a study tool you choose to use, like any other app on your laptop.

What does it actually do?

You give it a goal and the date it has to be ready by. It checks what you already know, builds the plan backwards from that date, and rebuilds it when a session goes badly or you miss a week — so the plan reflects where you actually are rather than where you hoped to be.

How is that different from a study timer?

A timer measures that you sat down. Akiri plans at the level of concepts: which ones the goal needs, which ones you have evidence for, and what the remaining days are best spent on. The two answer different questions.

What does it cost to start?

Nothing — you can build a plan on the free tier. Paid plans exist; nothing on this page requires one.

Tell Akiri the goal and the date. It measures where you are starting from, builds the plan backwards from the deadline, and rebuilds it as you go — in English, French, Spanish, Hindi or Chinese.
