Physical Sciences Paper 2 (Chemistry), November 2026: unofficial worked solutions

Mon 2 Nov 2026 · 09:00 · 3 hours

Every question will be worked through the way a memo sets it out: the method, the answer, and which line earns which mark. Have your question paper with you on the night. We describe each question rather than reprinting it.

Upcoming

Solutions go up here on the evening of Monday 2 November

From the early evening, question by question as each one is checked. Until then, the most useful thing you can do is write last year’s paper, timed and without help, and see which marks your working earns.

How to read the marks

A memo doesn’t mark a question simply right or wrong. Each tick is one mark, and it says what earned it.

✓ M
Method: the right approach, visible in your working.
✓ A
Accuracy: the right value. It depends on its method mark.
✓ CA
Consistent accuracy: a later step done correctly with your own earlier answer, even a wrong one. One slip is not punished twice.
✓ B
Any other credited point: a fact, a reason, a unit, a statement.

Before the next paper

Akiri marks your practice the way the memo does: method, answer and follow-through marks, with a reason for each point. It counts only what you do without help, objective by objective against the CAPS syllabus, so you know what is actually secure before you write.
